Special instructions This week, we will focus on "heart opening" exercises, which, as hippy-dippy as it sounds, just means opening up the chest space to allow for better breathing.
"Any time people feel threatened, be it by pain, challenge, or pressure to perform, the need to guard or defend oneself usually results in holding the breath or breathing in shallow, erratic patterns. These defensive breath patterns cause muscle tightness in the very areas we're trying to open, as well as gripping in the upper abdomen, which restricts the normal movement of the diaphragm." - http://www.yogajournal.com/for_teachers/2349 |

The Good Yoga is a great form of exercise. It will help your body become stronger and more flexible. It can also help you quiet the mind allowing for better focus and stress relief. |
|
The Bad Like any exercise, be aware of your limits. |
