Special instructions This week we'll be focusing on increasing flexibility in the shoulders. Keeping the shoulders loose and flexible can help reduce the amount of stress that you feel, especially if you are one of the many people who feel and hold stress in their shoulders and upper back (I am!).
I've been working on some shoulder stretching techniques that can be done anywhere. For the last week, I have set a timer and every 20 minutes I get up and do 30sec-5mins worth of shoulder stretching exercises, and it has had a profound effect. I would like to encourage those of you who work at computers all day to try this and see how it works for you.
We have spent a lot of time learning some of the basic yoga poses this summer, and it's time we begin to play a little. In this week's class, I will show you how to do headstand. Don't be scared. :) |

The Good Yoga is a great form of exercise. It will help your body become stronger and more flexible. It can also help you quiet the mind allowing for better focus and stress relief. |
|
The Bad Like any exercise, be aware of your limits. |
