Directions
From the south.
Take the 5 freeway north to Hwy 14.
North on Hwy 14 to Placerita Canyon Rd.
Turn right (east) and drive 1.5 miles to the park entrance.
Park in the large lot near the nature center. |

The Good

Notes
There are many trail combinations to choose from at Placerita Canyon. We can go high, or we can stay low. And possibly, depending on recent rain fall, we can even get wet.
This day we will likely head east on Canyon Trail, the oak and sycamore shaded path roughly following the stream bed. After 1.8 miles, we'll hang a right at the Waterfall Trail. The next 3/4mile takes us through a steep walled box canyon with a few stream crossings, before coming to before a seasonal waterfall. After admiring the water (or lack there of) we'll hike out the way we came in.
Although this is a great hike anytime, it is especially pretty in the spring after rain when the hills are green and the waterfall is flowing. |
