Special instructions   Danelle Vierkant wrote "Meeting 809 N Azusa Ave, Azusa, CA 91702 meeting at this location at 8am to consolidate cars because parking at the trail-head is very limited."

Directions  From highway 39, turn at the bridge to cross the lake for East Fork Rd. Keep right at the Y, then turn onto Camp Bonita at the sharp hairpin turn. Park at the end.

The Good  Plenty of splashing when it is hot, dogs allowed on leash (national forest).

The Bad  Soggy shoes, indistinct trail.

Where  San Gabriel River

Notes  This is a generally flat trail, but trail is a very loose thing here. Depending on the route finding ability of the leader, or preferences of the hikers, there are six to fourteen river crossings on the way. These are thigh high wades in wet times and nearly rock hopping in dry times. The finish is the remaining bridge from an attempt to build a US highway along the river. On weekends, you may get to watch bungee jumpers take off from the railings.
