Special instructions   Hidden Villa Geek-the-Creek Trail in Los Altos this Sunday. This is my favorite hike in the Bay Area (lots of nice smelling flora and baby fauna at the farm), and I'm finally in town long enough to do it! Parking is only $5 per vehicle at Hidden Villa. Depending on where people are coming from, we could meet either at the farm or somewhere else in Los Altos Hills and carpool in together. I can be reached at 415-735-1705 for scheduling.

Hope you can make it!

Elisabeth

Directions  Take El Monte exit off 280 and head towards Los Altos Hills. Stay on Moody Road for a couple miles until you reach Hidden Villa Farm on the left. Keep an eye out for white picket fence and olive trees.

The Good  Lots to pick and smell (Bay, sage, mint, etc), good views, trailhead is nestled in a cute organic farm which is a destination in itself

The Bad  Trail is fairly narrow, which means we'll have to walk single file... potentially difficult for a large group. Hidden Villa Farm may be difficult to spot initially.

Where  Hidden Villa Hidden, a nonprofit educational organization that uses its organic farming, wilderness, and community to teach and provide opportunities to learn about the environment and social justice. Located in Los Altos Hills near Foothill Community College.

Notes  The trail meanders along a Bay-lined creek bed for about a mile before ascending steeply through chaparral to golden meadows. On a clear day the second half of the hike has nice views of the Bay - from San Jose to San Francisco.
