Special instructions   RAINY DAY DEATH MARCH!

It's supposed to rain on Sunday, but this trail is flat and long and mostly paved, and we're hiking no matter what!

The parking lot and trailhead should be near the intersection marked on the map. I hope.

Directions  From I-90, get off at Exit 22 (Preston/Fall City) and go left over the freeway. At the yield sign next to the park and ride lot, turn right onto Preston-Fall City Road. Pass a gas station, and a short distance past the gas station (about two blocks), turn left onto Southeast 87th Place and continue about 20 feet to the trail, reader board and parking area (on the right), elevation 496 feet. If you get to Preston Mill, you've gone about one-fourth mile too far.

Where  Preston, WA

Notes  For an easy winter hike close to home, the Preston-Snoqualmie Trail is ideal. This paved rail trail follows a stretch of the railroad grade of the Seattle, Lake Shore and Eastern Railroad, built in 1890 and abandoned in 1974.

The 5.3-mile-long trail begins at Preston near Interstate 90 and ends at an overlook of Snoqualmie Falls.
